I think Meat had a lot of courage to try that on prime time television but in my opinion it didn't work. As JD commented, the arrangements were awful (it would have worked much better with a rock band or at least Steve Margoshes doing the arrangements). To me the main problem was the singer Juliette Pochin. Her voice was wrong for the song, she didn't seem to understand the lyrics and she drowned out Meat's voice. I'm surprised by how many good reviews posters have given the performance. If JD hadn't said she disliked it, I would be thinking that I had gone mad for failing to appreciate a great performance.
