Nope. I agree. I've been saying something similar for several years now.

There's a vocal minority around here that prefers that Jim work on theater projects. I think that comes from a perception that Jim prefers theater and that it makes more sense at this point. They may be right about that... but as a purely selfish matter, I'd love to see a new album written, arranged, and produced by Jim Steinman.

Smeg and others have pointed out that an entirely "new" Steinman song is a truly rare thing these days -- and has been for a very long time. I think its just been assumed that we won't see new writing from Jim, so people constantly post about what cover they'd like to hear on any rumored new recording. Wouldn't it be cool if Bonnie covered... [Fill in the Blank]? I think most people would still prefer it if new material came to light thought.

I basically agree with Smeg and you about the Frankesong thing. Recycling appears to be the enemy of conceptual and thematic consistency and integrity. I'm not ready to dismiss the chance that we will see new material soon, though! Body wasn't entirely new, but it was new enough to give me a rush and we've been told it was written within the last few years.
