| Inspired by something I read someplace else, I've had a little look back through Jim's blogs and tried to work out a list of the songs that might be in the musical. Thought it might be interesting to see what everyone thinks, and what songs you'd like to add to the list of possibles (and what songs you'd like to remove!) Anyway, knowing Jim this could all have changed by now but here's a basic list of what we know was going to be in there (possibly, at some point in the not too distant past etc etc): What Part of my Body Hurts the Most? Still the Children We Were Then Who Needs the Young? Graveyard Shift (although Jim said it might not make the final cut) The Devil's Playground Land of the Pig (see Lemon, below) And then, up to 15 songs from Bat 1 and Bat 2. Jim stressed they were "major" songs, and I come up with 16 "major" songs on the 2 albums, so at least 1 of the following won't make the cut: Bat out of Hell Took the Words Heaven Can Wait All Revved Up 2 out of 3 (Jim specifically said he'd found a place for this one) Paradise For Crying out Loud Anything for Love Life is a Lemon (to be done as a "medley" with Land of the Pig) Rock'n'Roll Dreams It Just Won't Quit Frying Pan Objects Everything Louder Good Girls Lost Boys and Golden Girls So, that's quite a list. Gonna be a long night in the theatre if only one of those songs gets dropped! Presumably, some of them will be heavily edited down or even rewritten to fit, and some of them won't make it at all. Jim also spoke about Todd coming up with some acapella arrangements for the show, so maybe some will only appear in that format. Of course, all this still leaves obvious Peter Pan-themed songs like Bad for Good and Surf's Up without a home, so there could be yet more numbers to crowbar in. Thoughts everyone? (And, yes, I am rather bored this afternoon). As Mrs Merton would say - let's have a heated debate! (But not too heated - oh no, no, no....;-) | |
