He should quit singing altogether. I'm only basing this on T.V. footage and other things surrounding the release of TMIL (and he didn't even promote the new stuff, he sang songs from BAT 1 & 2 to promote TMIL. I don't get it? And what on earth does TMIL have to do with BAT 1 & 2? I think he did the same with CHSIB, not sure.) He was good in 1978 and then he was really good between 1988-1994. After that, he drifted off and post-1996 went down hill. I can't stand "Storytellers" and MSO bugs me a lot, all the live recordings I've heard from that era are middling to bad. But these rockers can never give in. They don't know any other life. I sympathize with how hard it must be to tour the world forever and then, suddenly, to just stop. But Meat has to. If he continues the ultimate irony is that he will die doing what he loves. Perhaps he'll go out in a fashion similar to everything else he's done? Collapsing onstage on the last high C of "Bat Out Of Hell" and that's it, he's gone. Like a bat out of hell. | |
